Free Beano

It's in the Irish Independent today. Well it says 3p, but I just nicked it instead. Good times...
Dated from September 1974 and things have chaaaaanged...
Black and white apart from the cover for a start.

Edit: Just wanted to see when the first Beano was issued and it was 30th of July 1938.
And it was even more racist; -

My brother hacked a Kinect to do this

Splash Box from David Sweeney on Vimeo.

Expressive art comes in this new Kinect form as users are able to splash digital paint using their hands thanks to the Kinect. The Splash Box is a Kinect program that provides users with a blank mannequin which they can opt to splash paint with in order to create interesting forms of art. This video by David Sweeney showcases the Kinect Splash Box at work. Users have the option to paint with accuracy or to go all out with their blank canvass. Their hand movements dictate the direction and source of the splash paint effect. With this, users can now paint with their emotions can it can be clearly seen thanks to the Kinect Splash Box. Another thing of beauty here is the “rough” and “raw” appeal of the art made using this Kinect program.

At the end of the day, that's great advertising

Reblogged from thehopemovement:

Recently, their was a poor man that, like many without a home, spent his days on the streets holding up a cardboard sign asking for change. He wasn’t able to see, and his sign read, “I’m blind. Please help.”

Unfortunately, very few took notice of his despair until one day a wise woman took his cardboard sign, turned it over to the other side, and wrote the same thing, but in a different way.

On that very day, the poor man collected more money than he ever thought possible. What did she write on the board? “It’s a beautiful day but I can’t see it.”

Maybe we should practice and apply this to our daily life too, poor or rich.
